Embry stewardess board. they helped to run church. The church also had a group called communion stewardess board. Their function was to prepare for and assist in the communion service.

Newspaper clippings of popular tv program hosts obituaries, events happening in Lakeland community (ex., 'first demolition in Lakeland', 'Lakeland Urban Renewal Project'), response to letter on desegregation plan, editorial on 'Saving Lakeland.'

Embry AME Church

The churches of Lakeland have always been the true soul of the community. Gathering for dinner on the lawn of Embry AME Church has long been a summer tradition in Lakeland.
