Oral history with James Edwards (NO FILE)

An oral history interview conducted with James Edwards during Lakeland Heritage Weekend 2007. Mr. Edwards remembers Lakeland as a place that had a lot of things to do for African Americans of all ages, which were not available in other communities. His family lived in Lakeland for three generations, and he discusses the fact that his generation did not have the opportunity to live in Lakeland. Mr. Edwards believes that urban renewal did not have to go the way that it did in Lakeland and that the community was fooled. Can be contacted by phone for further information.
