Area Youth
Children of Embry join with area AME youth at Turner Memorial AME Church at 6th and I Street in Washington DC. That building was once home to Adas Israel Congregation. When that group sold the building it was purchased in 1951 and renovated to meet the needs of an AME congregation. Turner has since moved to building in Hyattsville Maryland. The Washington building has been returned to much of it's original state and is now known as the Sixth and I Historic Synagogue. It is a non-denominational, non membership, non traditional Jewish synagogue, The space holds religious services for various denominations and hosts cultural events for the public.
