U.S. Bureau of Mines Employees
Several Lakelanders worked at the U.S. Bureau of Mines office located on the College Park campus of the University of Maryland. The office was responsible for the treatment of water in cooling and heating systems within federal installations. The staff received water samples, analyzed them, and then sent out the chemicals required for proper water treatment.
